“Toward the unknown” 11 x 14 oil on canvas
This is one of my commemorative paintings for the WWI Centennial Commission as I am one of their endorsed artist partners.
“Toward the Unknown” depicts four French orphaned children awaiting a train in the next step of their journey to escape the torment of World War I.
French Refugee Children. While waiting for train, children were fed with bread and milk from American from the American Red Cross soldiers canteen. American Red Cross. 1917 - 1919
