Artist's Description

The Cloth Hall formed the heart of Ypres during the war, and remains so today. Begun around 1200 and extended through the following centuries, the Cloth Hall was designed the town's Corporation of Drapers to signify the success of their trade.

This is part of my continued series of paintings commemorating the centennial of WW1. I am honored to be one of the Centennial Commissions endorsed aritsts.

Then there are artists who, at a later stage of life, take the opportunity and the risks to launch their artistic gifts and see where they may go. I am such an artist. My fervor for art and the creative process started when I was a child...
