This painting could also be entitled “Sailing on History” as that is what it felt like to spend a day on the Mara. Mara was built in Sweden in 1951 and has been in the same family since that time. Nearly all her time has been spent sailing on Lake Superior but this year the wonderful owner brought her to the Bahamas!
Her character, history and beauty was a wonderful addition to the countless picturesque scenes and I am thrilled to painting several paintings which feature her.

Others are, sadly, constrained from life pressures and responsibilities, and never find the opportunity to develop and share. Then there are artists who, at a later stage of life, take the opportunity and the risks to launch their artistic gifts and see where they may go. I am such an artist.
