Each year on Veterans Day, thousands of veterans and their families congregate at The Wall to remember and to honor those who served in the U.S. armed forces. This year marked the 35th anniversary of the Wall and we were there to pay our respect. This oil painting from a picture I took that morning was incredibly dramatic and inspiring to paint. As one of my larger paintings whenever I felt like the brush strokes were becoming repetitive or monotonous I simply whispered "Thank you, thank you, thank you..." over and over.
